Who We Are
Team TSF was formed in 2010 when a mom decided to run the 2010 NJ Half Marathon. Instead of just running it for fun, she decided to build a team of people affected by Turner syndrome and raise funds for the Turner Syndrome Foundation. With a few phone calls to the event staff and many hours of organizing and recruiting, Turner Syndrome Foundation became an official charity of the 2010 New Jersey Marathon Festival at the Shore. In our first year, we had 31 total participants and raised over $13,000 In our second year, we were not only an official charity but were also asked to be a beneficiary of the event and we had 138 participants and raised over $25,000.
Inspired by the growth in just one year at the NJ event, we decided to pack our walking and running shoes and head to Arizona for the 2012 P.F. Chang’s Rock ‘n’ Roll Arizona Marathon & 1/2 where Team TSF was accepted as an official charity. Next, it was the 2012 St. Pete Rock ‘n’ Roll 1/2 in February 2012, then Nashville and Seattle and the team continues to grow and participate in different events all over the country.
Now in 2013, we have friends and families rising up all over the United States looking for ways to plan a Team TSF event in their communities. If you would like to join our growing team, please contact us by calling 1-800-594-4585 or emailing email@example.com.

If you are interested in being a part of TEAM TSF, you have a few choices.
Joining an athletic event
Register directly with the Turner Syndrome Foundation - The preferred choice and most popular choice is you commit to fundraising a certain amount and your entry fees and team shirt are covered by TSF. Fundraising minimums are typically anywhere from $150 - $500 which is much lower than most charity fundraising programs. To help you with your efforts, you will be able to set up your own personal fundraising page thorugh the event page on www.TSFUSA.org. This is an excellent fundraising tool and easy to do.
Register directly with an event and represent the Turner Syndrome Foundation - Maybe you are already commited to a race or perhaps you are not comfortable with making a commitment to reach the minimums required in the above option, well then we have another option for you. Register as part of Team TSF with only a $50 registration minimum with Team TSF then you pay your own event entry fees which are usually between $75-$125.
You don't need a team to be a team. You can start your own Team or go solo! Family fun run/walks, 5Ks, 10Ks, halfs or full marathons, cycling events… all are great ways to participate as part of our team. So come onboard with Team TSF. Sign up today!
New events are popping up and we want Team TSF and you to be there. email firstname.lastname@example.org

These are our shining stars!
Youth and adult athletic programs are encouraged to register with Team TSF to generate awareness about Turner Syndrome and follow their path towards supporting girls with Turner Syndrome. Be a community leader and suggest this charitable cause to your athletic club.
Casual walking clubs and fitness buffs are encouraged to show their support, too. Many will incorporate walking into their daily routine for health and wellness. Walking for a good cause also makes you feel like you are also helping others who need support.
Team TSF athletic events are great social and community building activities perfect for community participation.
The Team TSF events page will list events as they become available in great states across the country. Check back often to see the calendar of events, and consider leading or sponsoring an event in your area.

Team TSF Success Stories
Lace up your running shoes, grab your friends and family, and finalize your travel arrangement with LP Travel. The P. F. Chang’s Arizona Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon & ½ Marathon is less than two weeks away!
As an official charity, Turner Syndrome Foundation, Inc. has 12 participants (Team TSF) for the event in Phoenix, AZ; but more are welcome.
“ [We have] participants from PA, AZ, WA, and NC,” said Team TSF leader and Turner Syndrome mom, Donna Villavicencio.
Not a runner or walker? You can volunteer to help out at the event, donate to support a runner, or come and cheer on the participants and learn more about Turner Syndrome, a little known chromosomal condition affecting 1 in every 2000 girls.
Because it is a completely random condition, many TS patients do not get diagnosed until they are teens, keeping them from important medical treatments. It is the goal of Turner Syndrome Foundation, Inc. and Team TSF to raise awareness about Turner Syndrome and get the diagnosing age for TS patients lower and lower. To help reach this goal, volunteers are sought to help this ever-expanding foundation bring important programs to a city near you.
“TSF is a great organization and needs the support of others to help raise awareness and funds. Our fundraising goal [for the P.F. Chang’s Rock ‘n’ Roll Arizona Marathon & ½ Marathon] is $15,000,” said Villavicencio.
But, beyond supporting a great cause, the event serves as a day to meet great new friends and enjoy a fun day in the Arizona sun in the dead of winter.
“This is a fun event and a nice flat course with musicians playing every mile. The residents [of Arizona] are awesome as well and will be out there cheering,” said Villavicencio. “7 of the 12 [participants] are my friends and include 1 TS dad; 2 TS moms; 1 TS Grandma,” added Villavicencio, who is a former Arizona resident.
What advice does Villavicencio give to those who have never participated in a marathon before?
“Have fun! It's not every day you get to do a half or full marathon and you should enjoy the ride,” said Villavicencio who has participated in a ½ marathon and full marathon in Arizona before.
